Cedar Rapids to California: Our Trip
During retirement, we plan to travel for three months each winter, primarily to get out of the cold! A secondary objective is to visit different areas of our great country. We believe spending three months in a place will give us a much better understanding and enjoyment of the area than simply breezing in, spending a couple of nights, visiting the most popular attraction, then moving on down the road.
Last winter, we became "Winter Texans" by spending the time at J-5 RV Park in Mission, TX. This year, we are taking a different approach: We are trying our hand at Workamping! (See Links.) We are working part time and living at Toro County Park, which is about 3 miles south of Salinas, CA, and about 12 miles east of Monterey.
These pictures show some of the countryside and relatives we saw on the way out, plus some pictures of our home in the mountains of California.
